Rights and reuse
Rights and reuse
LUX143 is built to be read, cited, shared, and reused responsibly. This page explains the default reuse principles for materials published on the LUX143 portal.
General principle
You may share and cite LUX143 materials when you preserve:
- attribution
- context
- source links
- visible uncertainty
- respect for third-party rights
Do not present LUX143 materials in a way that removes their source, changes their meaning, or implies endorsement where none was given.
Original LUX143 text
Unless a page states otherwise, original LUX143 text may be reused for non-commercial purposes with attribution.
If a specific page lists another author or contributor, use the attribution shown on that page.

Images, audio, video, and generated media
Images, audio, video, music, generated visuals, covers, and other media may have separate rights.
Do not assume that media assets are reusable just because they appear on the site.
Follow the page-level attribution or rights note where available.
If no rights note is shown, contact LUX143 before reusing media outside normal linking, citation, or commentary.
Third-party sources
LUX143 may refer to external archives, institutions, publications, websites, maps, datasets, images, and historical sources.
Those materials remain under their original rights.
LUX143 does not grant rights to third-party materials.
When reusing third-party material, follow the original source's license, terms, and attribution requirements.
Heritage and archive data
Heritage records may combine public information, original research, third-party references, interpretation, uncertainty notes, and linked evidence.
You may cite records and link to them.
If you reuse structured data, preserve record identifiers, source links, attribution, uncertainty markers, and last updated date, where available.
Do not strip evidence, uncertainty, or attribution from the data.
AI-assisted reuse
You may use LUX143 materials as inspiration or reference in AI-assisted workflows if attribution is preserved and the output does not misrepresent LUX143 as the author or endorser of new claims.
Do not use LUX143 materials to generate misleading, unattributed, or context-stripped derivatives.
Commercial reuse
Commercial reuse requires prior permission unless a specific page or asset states otherwise.
Examples of commercial reuse include:
- paid publications
- commercial training materials
- commercial datasets
- paid media products
- branded campaigns
- resale or sublicensing
Corrections and takedown requests
LUX143 aims to respect authors, institutions, communities, and source holders.
If you believe something is incorrectly attributed, insufficiently credited, or should not be published, contact LUX143 with the page URL, the material concerned, the reason for the request, and your relationship to the material, if relevant.
